Membership is £5 per household per year. It is open exclusively to all who own or live at Riverside West - whether you are an owner-occupier, non-resident leaseholder, or tenant.
As a member, you have the right to:
1. Receive formal written notice of the AGM and any Extraordinary General Meetings.
2. Vote on Association decisions and elect the Executive Committee.
3. Stand for election to the Committee or join specialised working groups.
4. Submit formal resolutions for consideration by the membership.
5. Access member-only updates, budget analyses, and meeting reports.
The True Value of Your £5: Statutory Recognition
A residents' association is only as influential as the proportion of the development it represents. By joining, your £5 subscription directly empowers the association to seek formal recognition as a Recognised Tenants’ Association (RTA)under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985. Achieving statutory status grants us enforceable legal rights, including:
The legal right to be formally consulted on the appointment or change of Managing Agents.
The right to inspect service charge accounts, receipts, and underlying contracts.
The right to be consulted on major capital works (Section 20 consultations) before contracts are awarded.
The right to be recognised legally as the collective voice for Riverside West, rather than an informal pressure group.
We cannot achieve this statutory threshold without strong membership numbers. Joining is not just paying a nominal fee - it is buying a collective seat at the decision-making table.

Paying securely with GoCardless
We use GoCardless to collect payments by Direct Debit. GoCardless is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and holds ISO27001 certification for information security, the same international standard banks are held to.
Every payment is protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. If an error is ever made in a payment, you are entitled to an immediate refund from your bank, and we must always tell you in advance if the amount or date of a payment is changing. You are also free to cancel a Direct Debit at any time directly with your bank.
